Portuguese land-based casino operator Sociedade de Investimentos Turísticos da Costa Verde (Solverde) is to expand into the online gaming sector in partnership with Toronto listed supplier NYX Gaming Group.
With five casinos in Portugal and more than 40 years’ experience in the market, Solverde is one of the country’s largest casino operators.
The agreement sees the casino operator integrate NYX’s Open Platform System (OPS) for its online launch, offering players popular NYX titles such as Foxin’ Wins, Jackpot Jester 50,000 and Merlin’s Millions Superbet.
The agreement follows the start of the licensing process for iGaming operators under the country’s new regulatory framework which came into force this year.
“Solverde has chosen, after a thorough market consultation identifying the main players of the sector, NYX Gaming Group for their demonstrated capacity, quality of service presented and, above all, the client portfolio it already holds,” Solverde director Americo Loureiro explained.
NYX EVP business development, David Flynn, added: “We are thrilled to be the chosen partner of Solverde as they expand into the online space.
“Through our OPS, they will be working with one of the world’s most flexible gaming platforms and able to deliver players in Portugal a responsive, omni-channel experience that is custom to the Solverde brand.”
The Solverde deal marks NYX’s first agreement in the newly regulated Portuguese market.
